After a long, seemingly endless harsh winter, there is just about nothing we Milwaukeeans crave more than a little warm, fresh air. The outdoor dining and drinking scene in this city has exploded in the past few years, and most patios are packed on a nice sunny afternoon.

For my money, Tess has got the best patio in the city, hands down. And there food is to die for! And did I mention there awesome beer and wine lists? They have things there you can't get anywhere else in the city!

Thank you for the informative guide to Al Fresco Dining. Unfortunately for the 2nd year in a row, you neglected to include Maxie's Southern Comfort in your list. Our outdoor dining opens everyday at 4pm with Milwaukee's Happiest Happy Hour. Thanks, Dan

Cafe Calatrava at the Milwaukee Art Museum has the freshest, finest al fresco dining along the lake. You can't get any closer to Lake Michigan! The Cafe's terrace is open, weather permitting, 11 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday through Sunday. Their number is 414-224-3831.
