Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles -- including guides, unique features, drink recipes and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Bars & Clubs, 2009. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all month long in the Bars and Clubs section of OnMilwaukee.com.

In a close competition, Rascals prevailed as the readers' choice for Milwaukee's best happy hour in 2009.

The East Side establishment, at 2311 N. Murray Ave., outdoes itself on the one thing necessary for a happy crowd in the early evening hours: cheap drinks.

The home of the "$1 Happy Hour," allows you to kick back after work with mixed drinks and beers for a buck every night of the week. Rascals draws plenty of regulars and streams of college students for one of the liveliest, happiest happy hours in town.

The OnMilwaukee.com staff put its vote behind Taylor's for its combination of great drinks and free food. From 4 to 8 p.m., Taylor's pours a long list of drink specials including $1 off tap beers and $3 mixers.

But Taylor's also bolsters cheap drinks with free food. The Cathedral Square bar puts out trays of cold cuts, cheese, crackers and bread for its happy hour clientele.

Reader Poll
If you could choose, would you prefer December or March to stay warm and snowless in Milwaukee?
December. I'm not ready for winter yet.
March. By then, I need winter to be over.
There's no use complaining or hoping for better weather in Wisconsin.
Actually, I like snow.
