Chef-owner Butch Schettle has closed his Butch's Clock Steak House and Martini Bar, 800 N. Plankinton Ave. The Cawker Building location opened in 2004.
Schettle, who has more than 30 years of restaurant experience, has moved most of the Cawker Building's contents to his Butch's Old Casino Steak House, 555 N. James Lovell St., which remains open.
Butch's Clock Steak House finished ninth in the most recent OnMilwaukee.com Readers' Poll in the category of "best steak."

I'm not sure which area Downtown Red means, the Cawker location or the Greyhound Bus Terminal location. I will say this... the Cawker location was terrific, pleasant, and warm. I've never been to the "first" location, mainly because that area has always been kind of scary. I assume therefore that the rent there is much more reasonable.

That area has so much potential. Look at the corner on Google Street view and it could be such a signature spot for the city. Get a few good restaurants and cafes there and it would be hopping. Clock Steak House always look closed when I went by there.
