Article printed from OnMilwaukee.com: ![]() 12:21 a.m. March 04, 2008 On “Favre’s Day,” story on Bucks GM making big waves by Jeff Sherman Brett Favre's retiring. I read it on these pages this morning. Best of luck to him and his family. Interesting, though, it's ESPN's Bill Simmons who is making big buzz still with his call for the General Manager job at the Milwaukee Bucks. Simmons, one of my favorite sports columnists, is a huge NBA fan. The dude seems to watch nearly every game. His writing is tight, witty and insightful. Last week in a blog and a column, he expressed his interest in Larry Harris' job. Many fans think he could do it and do it well. He's now in full campaign mode. Today, Simmons' linked to an OnMilwaukee.com story on the Bucks GM Larry Harris and his fashion sense that Drew Olson wrote in November 2007. The link was provided by a reader in New York. This reader, Scott S., says: "Your campaign for Bucks GM made me curious about the guy you are trying to oust. If incompetence wasn't enough to get Larry Harris fired (and for you to get your shot), I believe this link should end the discussion." Kinda funny. In the last half hour (11:30-noon) this Drew Olson story on Harris has been read more than 700 times! On Friday, Simmons' was on with Steve "The Homer" True on ESPN Radio 540. Simmons was great, as was Homer. Hear the interview below. Whatever happens in this Simmons campaign for the Bucks General Managership, it's all good exposure for Milwaukee and our Bucks -- even if it is Brett Favre's day.
