"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun articles on bars and clubs -- including guides, the latest trends, bartender profiles and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!
The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Bars & Clubs, 2011. Find readers' results in 50 categories, including an editors' pick, in this series of articles that run daily in the Bars and Clubs section of OnMilwaukee.com.
People head to the bar for all kinds of reasons: a tough day at work, to watch a sporting event, to catch up with friends, or to hide out from mob hit-men after a zany mixup.
But when you get right down to it there is almost certainly someone there because it's the easiest place to get laid. The mixture of alcohol and free Chex Mix is an age old recipe for accelerated romance. However, it's not always the best idea to let the warm haze of an alcohol-rich bloodstream dictate your sexual desires; it is almost certainly the worst idea.
But if it wasn't for bad ideas we wouldn't have airplanes or Hot Pockets, and almost no one would be having sex. So when it comes to one-night stands or "hooking up," OnMilwaukee.com's readers say the best bet is Victor's at 1230 N. Van Buren St.
Also the winner of 2011's Best Cougar Bar, Victor's reputation for having an extremely motivated clientele gave it the top position for bars to seek out when looking to engage in positions of another sort.

I love the bar! But the restaurant service is pretty bad. I would rather pay a little bit more and go eat across the street!
yes. yes i do. especially when it's proven safer than traveling 65mph, a foot and a half off the ground.
30,000 above the ground and 600 mph, and all you are doing is sitting on a flotation device, and you wonder if it's a bad idea?
i don't know...maybe i'm reading it wrong, but how are airplanes a bad idea?
