"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles -- including guides, unique features, drink recipes and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!
As OnMilwaukee.com gets ready to host the first Bartender Olympics, you can get ready to cheer on the competition by familiarizing yourself with future Milwaukee Bar Olympians.
Watch for profiles of all 10 bartenders over the next week and then catch the action at the Milwaukee Ale House on Thursday, Feb. 26. All in honor of friendly competition, cheer on your favorite Olympian while you enjoy deals on Ale House food and Maker's Mark, Jameson, Absolut Mango or Dr. Lemon drinks.
Here's a look at participant Jim Carney, a veteran bartender at G-Daddy's BBC.
OnMilwaukee.com: What's your favorite thing about working as a bartender in Milwaukee?
Jim Carney: People like to drink a lot. What else? It's cliché, but it's a city with a small town feel so you don't have a lot of people acting stuck up -- they're there just to have a good time.
OMC: If you could bartend at an establishment other than BBC, where would it be?
JC: I'd like to bartend in Chicago at Delilah's, just for the music and the people. I like the punk rock.
OMC: If you could serve a drink to anyone, who would it be and what would you serve?
JC: It'd be Iggy Pop and I think it'd be a coffee because he might be on the wagon.
OMC: Which artists would you put on your jukebox?
JC: Murder City Devils, The Dead Boys, Drag the River, Motorhead and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
OMC: In the competition you're going to be making a cocktail with one of the four sponsor brands. Which one did you pick and how do you typically serve it?
JC: Jameson, in abundance.

Carney is the most entertaining bartenders in the city. You go into BBC knowing no one and leave drunk, out of smokes, and have 7 new friends. I should know I chased after him for months to get into his pants! And I am tall enough to ride! By the way--You are the bartender olympian! Rock on!

this guy is one of the main reasons I would go to BBC...People Like Jamba are one of the main reasons I dont drink smoothies or get a lot of fiber in my diet...although i did start taking baby asprin to reduce my risk of heart disease...gotta knock off the sweets....Jim Carney is one hell of a sexy man....I would gladly bear his children....or at least spoon in a pool of urine with....im sure jamba knows that smell very well and can pinpoint it at a bar.....as jamba most likely lives alone with 43 cats....meow!!!

Crazy Carneys! Did you yell at that guy after you urinated on him while smoking?

To Jamba j.... Sorry if you thought I was rude. Depending on the night it was I may have been drunk. Was it a weekend? I also smoke a lot. If the bar smelled like urine, well, it was most likely you. I love you and good luck with all your endeavors unless you were one of the drunk people I had to kick out. Sincerely, Jim Carney
