Milwaukee's best chain bar, 2010: Bar Louie

The voters cast their ballots -- and the editors agree -- for Bar Louie as Milwaukee's best chain bar.

It's a solid choice. The two Milwaukee-area locations, 1114 N. Water St. and at the Bayshore Town Center, both offer the same wide selection of tap and bottled beer, specialty drinks -- and affordable specials -- to two very different groups of clientele.

Although plenty of people head to the Water Street location for a quick bite, the Downtown location is right smack in the center of the popular bar district.

Up at Bayshore, you'll find a lot of diners, but many stop in for happy hour or nightly specials.

I'm really not a chain fan, but I do have to admit ... Bar Louie honestly is a great place. I wish other chains would take a page or two out of the Bar Louie handbook on how to do 'em right.

Thank God Buffalo Wild Wings didn't win. It's obnoxiously loud and their wings are way overrated.
