The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Bars & Clubs, 2009. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all month long in the Bars and Clubs section of OnMilwaukee.com.

There are no shortage of bars, taverns, pubs and clubs Downtown and in the Third Ward, so this is a big win for the Milwaukee Ale House, as it was voted the winner of Milwaukee's best Downtown / Third Ward bar by the readers of OnMilwaukee.com.

The Ale House, an all-malt brewery and restaurant, is a great choice, no matter what time of the year it is. During the warm summer months its double-decker beer garden along the Riverwalk make it a wonderful spot to soak up some sun during happy hour and during the winter months, the live music and selection of seasonal beers make it a fun, cozy place to escape the cold.

Now the Ale House team also runs the Milwaukee Brewing Co. located in Walker's Point. There is also a second Ale House located at 1208 13th Ave. in Grafton.
