Grab a designated driver and dive in!

It was a closer race than some might have expected, but for the umpteenth year in a row, La Cage claims the title of Milwaukee’s best LGBT bar.

Since the earliest days of OnMilwaukee.com’s best of bars poll, this institution of Walker’s Point nightlife – as well as one of the city's oldest LGBT dance clubs – has come away with the crown. It probably has something to do with its three floors of dancing, drinking and socializing – plus the dance cage, live DJs, theme nights, multiple bars and more.

Finishing in second place – just a scant 18 votes behind La Cage – came Hamburger Mary's. While those two closely duked it out for gold and silver, Walker's Pint, This Is It and Art Bar filled out the rest of the top five from a fairly distant amount of votes.

Though it finished in fourth in the readers' poll, OnMilwaukee.com's editors picked This Is It as their preferred LGBT pick. Its cozy and covertly hidden-in-plain-sight confines serve as a nice counterpoint to the dance party vibe of La Cage. Either way, both offer a good time for those gay, straight or undefined.

OnMilwaukee.com editors’ pick: This Is It

2. Hamburger Mary’s
