Yeah, we can't wait until the patio at Barnacle Bud's re-opens, either.

Best bar patio/view, 2014

"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com – brought to you by Absolut, Avion, Fireball, Pama, Red Stag and 2 Gingers – is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun articles on bars and clubs – including guides, the latest trends, bar reviews, the results of our Best of Bars poll and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

Although we tinkered a bit this year, combining the best patio and best view categories, the results haven't changed all that much.

The winner, Barnacle Bud's, was the perennial favorite in the patio category and typically finished in the top two in the view competition, too.

It's true, Bud's, 1955 S. Hilbert St., is something special. Tucked away like no other bar in Milwaukee, it's easier to reach by boat than by car.

Although there's a quaint beach shanty with a bar and a dozen tables, the outdoor deck is the place to be if the weather's smooth sailing. There, boats of all kinds dock and undock, while diners and drinkers talk, joke, smoke and lazily lick barbecue sauce off their fingertips.

Its patio is the perfect venue for an evening of drinks on a warm summer night. With live music, an oyster bar and a killer Bloody Mary, it's no wonder why Barnacle Bud's was your choice for Milwaukee's best patio – narrowly beating out another solid choice, the Horny Goat Hideaway.

In the newly combined category, we in the OnMilwaukee.com office selected The Harp for its riverside patio that offers great views of Downtown.

Editors' choice: The Harp

Runners up:
2. Horny Goat Hideaway
3. Cafe Benelux
4. Milwaukee Ale House
5. Estabrook Park Beer Garden
