This evening between 6 and 8 p.m., the Frying Dutchmen, a new food truck specializing in authentic Dutch street food and pub cuisine, will debut its wares outside Blackbird Bar at 3007 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.

During the event, a limited supply of dishes like twice-fried Flemish fries (vlaamse frites), fried meatballs (bitterballen) and toasted sandwiches (tosti) will be available for purchase at discounted prices.

The truck’s operators include musician and cook Jay Stys, of Bay View’s Vanguard, along with improvisational comedy actor Matt Garnaas and long-time friend Ed Schott.

The Dutchmen made their first appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at ComedySportz, and have plans to launch lunch service and catering services moving forward.
