An old Milwaukee dive is getting a red hot makeover.
Previously called Franklin Place, Hosed on Brady plans to reveal a new look and fresh theme in 2-3 weeks. Located at 1689 N. Franklin Pl., directly south of Milwaukee Fire Department Engine Six, Hosed on Brady will be a firefighter-themed bar complete with industry paraphernalia and specials.
General Manager Tammie Brings explains current plans include a complete remodel; renovating the bar, floors and seating. The bar intends to be open Monday-Friday starting at 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.
To jibe with the neighboring fire station, Hosed on Brady will offer $1.50 specials on Hook & Ladder beer every time Engine 6 firefighters are called out on a run.
Hook & Ladder, a Maryland-based brewing company, came to Wisconsin in Fall 2008. The charity-focused brewhouse, donates $4 from each barrel and 25 cents from each case sold to local fire departments and burn centers.
Check back to OnMilwaukee.com in coming weeks for further reviews of Hosed on Brady.

I hope they open up the facade. It's not a very inviting place as currently configured. Look at the business Points East has been doing ever since they added windows. Of the course the wings are pretty darn good too...

I've lived in this neighborhood for about 5 years now and can honestly say I don't think i've ever walked into the Franklin Place. I'm excited that it's getting a makeover, and the fire department theme sounds great considering the station is next door. I hope they do a good job freshening up the place, Brady Street could use a few more clean establishments.

I was there once and the bathrooms smelled liked they had never been cleaned. I will definitely try the new place out to hopefully see a face-lift and much needed cleansing.

Intersting. I had forgotten all about that place. Worth a visit I'm sure. A face lift will sure help.
