A application for a Downtown strip club has been filed for the property at 730 N. Old World 3rd St., the site of the former Rusty’s 50 bar, The Velvet Room and Martini Mike's.

The application was filed by Boardroom Entertainment, whose principal is named Diane Buzdom. OnMilwaukee.com was unable to reach her.

Previously, Jon Ferraro, who operates Silk Entertainment, had applied for a license at the site but a Common Council committee turned that application down. Silk recently won a large award from the city over licensure issues and there has been no word on any negotiations to settle the suit.

Buzdom reportedly purchased the building from Ferraro several years ago.

Buzdom has also sued the city over the constitutionality of the city’s ordinance regulating strip clubs. That case has not been settled or argued and this new application may be an element of that lawsuit.

A hearing on the new application is set for May 26.
