We hope the new British pub opening in the old Elliott's Bistro, near our offices, is truly the dog's bollocks. |

After a few months of anticipation, British pub and grill The Dogs Bollocks is set to open at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 17, according to a sign (or should I say a placard?) in the window at 2321 N. Murray Ave.
As Maureen Post reported here back in January, the place is run by Tony Wright, owner of Shorewood's BritInn.
"My original plan with the BritInn was to open four British pubs in six years in the Milwaukee area. We're two and half years into the BritInn and The Dogs Bollocks will be the first additional pub," Wright told Post.
"At the BritInn, we've gone with a more Americanized menu because of the neighborhood. I plan to start with a fully British menu at The Dogs Bollocks and get people hooked on British food," Wright says.
Because it's about a 12-second walk from our offices, we here at OnMilwaukee.com are hoping this place is great and long-lived.

Stopped by on Friday just to check it out ended up staying unroll bar time. Great place, excellent atmosphere, and awesome crowd. A new inside winner and definately a destination place. Can't wait for the food to start in a few weeks.

The Britt in has the best fish fry in town!!! I could eat it every day. I have no doubt the fish and chips will be awesome. I love the Britt Pop they play and they have a cool smoking policy: no smoking in the dinning area during dinner time. A great place with wonderful servers who always remember us and treat us well. I peeked in the Dogs Bullocks the other day and it looked beautiful. I can't wait to go!

Agreed...if you don't open early and show footy...including Setanta then you're not really a British Pub or Irish one for that matter. Cheers Wiscoleeds
