Want to travel overseas without leaving the city? Carleton Grange Pub and Restaurant takes its name from an international student hostel London, England's borough of Islington. You can grab a beer, dinner or brunch in true English style but still be back in time to get to work in Milwaukee the next morning.

Menu: In true English pub style, Carleton Grange taps barrels with great care. There are a few more common choices like Newcastle Brown Ale or Stella Artois but you'll also find European staples like Fullers London Pride, Youngs Double Chocolate Stout and Belhaven Scottish Ale. The bottle beer list adds another 15 beers to the menu plus a full bar and small wine list.

Once you've decided on a drink, don't miss the full food menu, complete with English favorites like bleu rasher burger, English cheddar toastie or fish 'n' chips.

Price: A good beer costs a little more but it won't break the bank. Tap beers run $4.50 to $5 for 16 ounces and around a dollar more for 20 ounces.

When to go: A rotating deal runs every night of the week. Stop in on Tuesday for a free 12-inch pizza with a pitcher, 35-cent wings every Wednesday, wine flights on Thursday, a Friday fish fry or bring the family on Saturday for free kids meals.

Dress: Carleton Grange falls somewhere between a corner bar and a high-end establishment. Dress can be formal or casual, take your pick.

Don't miss: At the bottom of the specialty drink menu, bartenders are mixing up a few beer cocktails. Try the Black Velvet which combines Guiness and Strongbow, the Shandy which is part lemonade and part Stella or the Chocolate Covered Cherry which mixes Effen Cherry and Youngs Chocolate Stout.

Parking: A parking lot is located next to the building.
