Yesterday, I got a very nondescript flyer in the mail. I opened it and it read:
"Satin Exotic Gentlemen's Club. We'd like to hear from you ...."
Well, now. The flyer went on to say, "We have proposed the development of SATIN Gentlemen's Club, 117 W. Pittsburgh Ave. in Milwaukee. We submitted a new license application to the Milwaukee Common Council ..." "The ownership group of SATIN is committed to strong working relationships with neighbors and community stakeholders. We are hosting a public discussion of our proposal and invite all community members to attend."
This meeting is at 1 p.m. Saturday at 117 W. Pittsburgh Ave.
The "we" in the memo are the operators of Silk, 11400 W. Silver Spring Rd.
So, there you have it. A new gentlemen's club seems to be on its way to greater Downtown Milwaukee. Satin would be across from a bar called Ball Game and very near Ginger and Just Art's.
Talk back as you will and learn more here. The license will be up for consideration on September 9.

Where there are strip clubs there is prostitution and drugs, doesn't matter how nice the "club" says it is. Just check out any parking lot (& what goes on in the cars)at the strip clubs here already. We don't need more places to degrade women in this city.

Great point zcmack!! What are social morays when the 5th ward can have a slightly less weak trickle of female-denigrating porn-revenue?! Forget legitimate restaurants and small businesses, we've had enough of that trash! Bring on the world of McDonalds-brothels!! Weeeee!

There have been many new businesses opening in Walkers Point in the past few years Times Square Pizza, Martha's Vineyard, Bomb Shelter, Crazy Water, Illustra, Olive Pit, Ginger, Transfer, Horny Goat Brewing, Iron Horse Hotel, Great Lakes Distilling to name a few. That have all added to the positive revitalization of the area. I'm not so sure another stip club is something the area needs, there is already one on 1st street called Solid Gold.

With all the strip clubs already around, does Milwaukee have enough pretty women trying to earn a nursing degree in an unconventional way?

what will help the milwaukee economy better than another bar/nightclub? yet another upscale boutique? a burger joint? if the company has the necessary capital, then by all means, put SOMETHING in this empty space.
