The "Social Circle" is a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.

Milwaukee welcomed another beer garden this week – this time, at Humboldt Park in Bay View. The new beer garden joins three that are already in existence at Estabrook Park, Hoyt Park and Hubbard Park.

This week, OnMilwaukee.com asked the Social Circle if they felt there were enough beer gardens, too many beer gardens or not enough beer gardens. As usual, people have varying opinions on the matter.

What do you think?

Adam Baus: "I'd like to see these as a gateway to greater community gathering spaces. I don't know why the only way to get people to gather has to be another cocktail club. I do think that the Estabrook and Hubbard Park Lodge ones are a bit too close."

Rebecca Brandt: "Enough. A few are fine, but if we keep mixing beer and parks, there will be incidents. Let's just stop while we are ahead."

Erica Broussard: "I love them! Drinking al fresco is the epitome of summer. I lived in Shorewood for 17 years. Estabrook opened a few years ago and I was in heaven. I moved to Bay View last July and missed it so. Then Hubbard opened up shop and I was forlorn as I used to reside merely houses away from Hubbard Park. Then heard rumblings last year of the Humboldt Park one, but it kept being delayed. I am over the moon that it is now open and I, once again, have a beautiful park to imbibe in. Yay for biergartens! Prost!"

Annie Callahan: "We need one in Grant Park."

Katie Daly: "I think the media is trying way too hard to force beer gardens into being an issue. Is ‘I don't really care if they are there or not’ an acceptable stance?"

Jack Harrold: "Beer gardens are great and all, but I’d like to see a whiskey patio."

Kim Henderson: "Never enough!"

Paul Kennedy: "Who doesn't like gardening in the summer?"

Richard Kerhin: "We may eventually reach a saturation point, but I doubt we are near in this town. We still need more easily accessible public gathering spaces with food and drink available."

Brian Ondrejka: "Give Milwaukee all the beer gardens. Because beer."

Russ Pracieduz: "There's something missing in them and I can't quite put my finger upon it. Some design necessities are lacking. Visit Munich and you’d understand."

Maria Holden Raboin: "As someone living where there are zero, I'd say the more the merrier. I just visited Milwaukee last week and spent a good 3-4 hours at the Estabrook one. I didn't want to leave."

Tamilia Reed: "I like the idea of beer gardens, but would love if a margarita garden sprouted."

Terry Sexton: "Are there any beer gardeners that can provide beer gardening advice? Like, how often should you weed? Watering? Do beer plants do well in shady areas?"

Renee Shavers: "I think they are fun."

Annie Wiedert: "If concessions can bring revenue for the parks, why not? People are bringing in beer and snacks anyway. There has been a lot of untapped revenue generation potential for the parks, which are so well used, to better support themselves."
