Though The Sandlot Bar and Grill opened at 4823 W. National Ave., in West Milwaukee in late November, it's prepping now for a grand opening celebration and for the start of its first season of big league ball.
The restaurant and tavern – the brainchild of owners Corey Burns, Luke Lynch and Matt Wolfe – serves a Friday fish fry, offers $1.50 tacos all day on Tuesdays and 50-cent wings from 4 until 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays – alongside a range of other specials.
Wednesdays is also live trivia night beginning at 7 p.m.
The Sandlot will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Feb. 22, beginning at 11 a.m.
There will be raffles, door prizes, food and drink specials and shot girls. And because the baseball themed bar is getting set for the start of Brewers season just up the block, the racing sausages will be on hand, too.
"We are very excited to be so close to Miller Park and be a staple for Brewers' fans," Burns says.
The Sandlot is open 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Tuesdays-Fridays and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturdays. When the Brewers' season starts, however, The Sandlot will open daily at 11 a.m.
OH they have a fishfry!?!?! and a taco night!?!? and a wing night!?!?! Wait, how is this different than EVERY bar in Milwaukee???? Oh, they're a sports bar. Wait, how is that different than 3/4 of the bars in MKE? OH, they are close to Miller Park! Wait, that's still about 20% of the bars in MKE. I bet they are gonna have a shuttle to Brewers games right? Way to be unique. Best of luck.
