Don Krause opened Art Bar five years ago, and now, he's about to unveil his second masterpiece: a romantic hideaway for couples called Two, 718 E. Burleigh St.
Inside the old Hop Inn space (right next door to Art Bar), Two will be a smoke-free, ambient lounge. It'll feature upholstered booths surrounded by beaded curtains, candlelight and a jukebox playing exclusively old and new love songs to create an intimate space for couples.
Krause says Two will open sometime in October.
"Two will be a special occasion bar for couples on a first time date. It'll be a place to get acquainted with someone you just met on-line, or a place to have a long conversation with the one you love, or a parents' break from the kids, or old friends catching up or a hideaway to conceal an affair," says Krause. "It's Milwaukee's make-out bar."
Two will serve upscale, limited-selection premium liquors, specialty drinks for two, martinis, fine wine and choice beers.
Two will be open everyday except Monday from 7 p.m. until close.
