With an expansive view of Downtown Milwaukee’s skyline, a snippet of the river and iconic local business signs, View – a bar, eatery, rooftop patio and rentable space which soft-opened tonight – is aptly named.

The View at Evolution, which is owned by the Wild Planet Hospitality Group, is located on the top floor of the building, 1023 N. Old World 3rd St., that also houses Evolution and The Brass Alley. It will open to the public on Friday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m.

"Originally, it was built out as solely an event space, but the interest was so great that we decided to open daily and to offer brunch as well," says Natasa Jones, the director of events for the three businesses in the building.

View will open daily at 4 p.m. with a small, sharable menu and a full bar. It will also offer brunch on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 10 a.m. It is also available for weddings, corporate events, holiday parties and more.

View includes both a light-filled hospitality area featuring a large bar, tables and room for a dance floor as well as a three-season, rooftop patio connected by large, sliding glass doors. The decor is natural and subtle and, eventually, there will be two ping pong tables – a nod to downstairs neighbor Evolution.

"We wanted it to have a neutral palate and an industrial-chic feel," says Jones.

Wild Planet also operates the Red Rock Saloon, McGillycuddy's, Red Lion Pub, Trocadero, Three Lions Pub, Evolution and The Brass Alley.

"We’re very flexible with the space and want to appeal to everyone," says Jones.
