Milwaukee's Water Street Brewery received a gold medal for their Raspberry Weiss at the 14th annual North American Beer Awards in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Two other Wisconsin breweries were also medalists at the event. Capital Brewery in Middleton brought home seven medals. It won gold for their Imperial Dopplebock, silver medals for their Weizen Dopplebock, Capital Dark, Eisphyre and Blonde Dopplebock. Capital Brewery's Wisconsin Amber and Fest received bronze medals. Stone Cellar Brew Pub in Appleton received a bronze for its Tilted Kilt Scottish Ale.

MillerCoors scored 11 medals including golds for Coors Banquets, Blue Moon Honey Moon and in the soft drink category Henry Weinhard's Root Beer. Anheuser-Busch Inc. beers also won 11 medals.

The North American Beer Awards had 1,200 entries in 27 categories from 75 breweries. The North American Brewers Association, a non-profit foundation, runs the awards. The event, held in conjunction with the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest is conducted as a single blind sampling followed by rank ordering of the entries within each category.
