Charli XCX & Bleachers at The Rave
With special guest Borns
Despite releasing their debut album just last year, Bleachers have already scored two #1 hits: the rollicking "Rollercoaster" and the surging, sing-along megahit anthem of 2014 "I Wanna Get Better." After penning the hits "Brave" for Sara Bareilles and "Sweeter than Fiction" and "Out of the Woods" for Taylor Swift, among others, he set out to create his own band looking to bring the cool of '80s pop-rock back to the mainstream. Bleachers' blend of bombastic, epic-sounding pop anthems punctuated by intense percussion offer a thrilling slice of modern nostalgia that would have fit perfectly in 1987 but also happens to fit perfectly in 2015. It's an all-out party waiting to happen with Bleachers.
Charli XCX burst onto the music scene as the featured artist on two of last year's biggest hits, "Fancy" with Iggy Azalea and "I Love It" with Icona Pop. She proceeded to earn her own megahit when "Boom Clap" from the film Fault in our Stars shot to the top of the charts. Between solo engagements, she has written the hits "OctaHate" for Ryn Weaver and "Beg for It" by Azalea, in addition to two tracks on Gwen Stefani's upcoming album. Be there as Charli rolls through hit after hit, each prominently displaying the young songwriter's penchant for penning hooks that satisfy while bucking expectations ever so slightly. Her slick pop bolstered by crunching synths have provided the soundtrack for parties worldwide, and here's your chance to experience the mania. - See more at: http://www.therave.com/concert_details.asp?id=6264#sthash.L2ZhPPZv.dpuf
Brandon Flowers at The Rave
Considered one of the finest showmen on the current music scene, Brandon Flowers released his first solo album Flamingo in 2010 to wide acclaim, even debuting at #1 on the album charts. Its single "Flamingo" reached the top ten worldwide, earning particular note for the Charlize Theron-starring video. Now he's back with a second album due May 18, The Desired Effect, which has already spawned the ridiculously infectious hit "Can't Deny My Love." The new single "Still Want You" seems sure to follow. Famous for his onstage theatrics, lovelorn desert roars and sparkling charisma, Flowers somehow manages to be everything to everyone to everyone, tempering the New Wave with the contemplative and delivering it all while working every inch of the stage but somehow maintaining the integrity of his distinctive voice. Flowers' tunes surge strongly with influences including Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen and even Robert Palmer; frequent covers include "Edge of Seventeen" and "Simply Irresistible," all of which conquers with aplomb. While he has expanded his vision on this album to include honeyed, Fleetwood Mac-style harmonies, the new material still showcases his almost ridiculous ability to create insanely-catchy songs with thick atmospheres and lyrics just begging to be repeated at the top of your lungs with the windows down and the wind in your hair, racing across the highway... or gleefully dancing along at the Eagles Club. Here's your chance to experience an undeniable rock star in his element. - See more at: http://www.therave.com/concert_details.asp?id=6263#sthash.oViXplAJ.dpuf
