WYMS 88.9 FM, 88Nine RadioMilwaukee, will officially introduce itself to the community with a free launch party on Wednesday, April 4 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Miramar Theatre, 2844 N. Oakland Ave.
The no-cover event features three bands -- Fever Marlene, De La Buena and Black Elephant, free food, a variety of giveaways and the chance to meet the station's DJs, who will be spinning tunes between sets.
The new station hit the airwaves Feb. 26 at 88.9 FM and online at radiomilwaukee.org. OnMilwaukee.com is a promotional partner with the new station.
"The free 88Nine RadioMilwaukee Launch Party is just one of many ways we will be giving back to the community and connecting with listeners," said Radio For Milwaukee Executive Director J. Mikel Ellcessor. "Milwaukeeans are excited about the new diverse format, and we look forward to celebrating this bold adventure in community-building and great music."
