National Avenue in the Walker's Point neighborhood is evolving and so it's no surprise J. Jeffers & Co. bought the two buildings near the corner of South 6th Street and West National Avenue, as reported by the Milwaukee Business Journal.

According to the article, the company will later reveal redevelopment plans for the site.

Thus, those of us with fond – potentially hazy – memories of late-night-enchilada eating at Acapulco Restaurant, which was located in the corner building for decades, need to get our nostalgic selves to Sixth Street to snap a photo of that comforting, iconic sign that is certainly coming down soon.

And hopefully Acapulco's sign, like the Sydney Hih letters and Goldmann's Department Store sign, will find a new public home.
