Every week in 2015 (and the first few weeks of 2016), OnMilwaukee and local design company Too Much Metal join forces to introduce the latest member of the Milwaukee All-Stars – a team of unfamiliar winners living in the city who consistently and diligently make it shine. Each week, a new member will join the team – based on your recommendations – and at the end of the year all will come together in a Rally of the Raddest Milwaukeeans. Come join the celebration and, for now, meet ...

Toni Spott

OnMilwaukee / Too Much Metal: What is it you do?

Toni Spott: I have been in real estate for 15 years and currently work for Keller Williams. I refer to myself as a "sustainable agent" because I have a green designation which means I teach people how to live a "greener" life in their homes.

OnMilwaukee / Too Much Metal: Why do you do what you do?

Spott: I truly like making people happy. Especially first-time buyers – getting them into a new home and to see their satisfaction and happiness is just so great. To me, it doesn’t matter if someone is buying a million condo or a $30,000 foreclosed home, it’s just as satisfying for me.

OnMilwaukee / Too Much Metal: When did you fall in love with Milwaukee?

Spott: When I moved to Milwaukee 25 years ago it was instant love. I was born and raised in California, and then lived briefly in Illinois, but when I moved to the Bay View neighborhood in Milwaukee, I knew I had found my home.

I really love Bay View. I love the houses here – almost no two are alike – and I really love so many people here. Most of the people in Bay View have a creative aspect of their life that they share with everyone around them. We are really good to each other in Bay View.

OnMilwaukee / Too Much Metal: What is your hope for Milwaukee?

Spott: My hope is that people appreciate all of the different cultures in this city. Every culture contributed to what’s great about Milwaukee, and I would like to see us show more appreciation for all of the cultures – to truly embrace the diversity here.

OnMilwaukee / Too Much Metal: What is your favorite or least favorite Milwaukee smell?

Spott: My favorite is the bacon smell coming from Patrick Cudahy. My least favorite is when I’m driving over the Hoan (Bridge) and it smells like a toilet.

OnMilwaukee / Too Much Metal: What is your one guilty pleasure?

Spott: AJ Bomber’s stuffed portobello burger. Have you had one? If not, you must!

OnMilwaukee / Too Much Metal: If you could high five one Milwaukeean, who would it be?

Spott: Al Jarreau. I love his music, his style and the message that he sends.
