A new study by Bizjournals -- the parent company of The Milwaukee Business Journal -- that ranks the brainpower levels of America's 100 largest metropolitan areas finds that Madison leads the pack.
"The study's objective was to identify those metros that have the highest levels of collective brainpower, as indicated by their residents' educational attainment," wrote G. Scott Thomas on bizjournals.com.
Milwaukee ranked 37 in the study, just ahead of St. Louis and Charlotte. Chicago was 29.
