{image1}Do you love cheese? Cheddar? Swiss? Deep fried on a stick? OMC adores fromage of all stripes, and we want to hear about your passion for provolone or how ga-ga you get over gouda.

So send us a your best "cheese haiku" and perhaps we'll post it on OnMilwaukee.com during the month of April for National Poetry Month.

We'll also read our favorites at an upcoming to-be-announced cheesy event that OMC has in the works. Plus, writers of the chosen haiku will receive complimentary cans of Cheez Whiz.

Been a while since English class? Here's a haiku refresher: A haiku is a three-line poem with the first and third lines each having five syllables and the second line with seven syllables.

Here's an example of a cheese haiku:

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Stretchy and gooey
either white or orange will do
not a bite for you!

Cheese poems that are not in the form of haiku are also acceptable. E-mail your work by Friday, April 1 to poetry@staff.onmilwaukee.com
