Here is an update on flooding issues in Milwaukee this morning from Cecilia Gilbert of the Department of Public Works.

"The Department of Public Works has received 56 calls regarding surface ponding throughout the City of Milwaukee since 7:00 a.m. Some major problems areas are in front of the Betty Brinn Children's Museum, the intersections at 76th and Center and 92nd and Center. Personnel has been dispatched to these and other areas.

"Sewer Maintenance has seven two-personnel hand crews, in addition, four Jet crews, and six Vac-Con crews to service any surface ponding calls. Also there are four two-person Sewer investigator crews on hand to service backwaters.

"Residents can call (414) 286-2489 to report any surface ponding in the City of Milwaukee.

"So far only minor tree damage has been reported.

"Garbage and recycling collection is occurring today.

"Updates will be provided throughout the day as necessary."
