Recently, someone has been hanging shoes from various phone and electric cables around the East Side. Instead of two shoes tied together, though, it's just one shoe tied to the word "DRIPS" written in silver letters. One appeared at the intersection of Water and Pleasant this morning.
OMC is investigating this apparent graffiti/public art display. Stay tuned.

ignoramus said: you all have really out-thought this thing a little too much. It just looks like some creative display of public art. Pretty ballsy too, they hit some busy streets. outsider- can u tell me how hanging a big ass sign from a power line is conventional!? it's not like they can just stop traffic and put a ladder up! Keep drippin'

outsider said: I dont know I think that you may be right about the trickle down thing I have heard about it before but I thought that it was pretty conventional and that it was just writing on walls and stuff. I guess if it has been going on for that long that they would expand I would be interested to know if they are hanging these things in other cities.

Cozen Beguile said: Magneto- You know the answer! I saw this back in 1992 at my sister-inlaws wedding in Portland, OR.! I have seen it in Detroit, Cleveland, St. Paul and other cities. Rumor has it that it does have to do with "Trickle Down". Also, that several NW bands and DJ's post "DRIPS" as they tour through cities. WOW! Funny that it took over 15 years to get here! What else can you tell us? Thanks ! PEACE!
