What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published Oct. 17, 2007 at 10:02 a.m.

I was driving through Estabrook Park, 4400 N. Estabrook Dr., late yesterday afternoon, and, as always, I noticed five or six cars parked in the parking lot midway through the park. In most of the cars, there was a single man sitting in his car.

I know that this park -- particularly the parking lot -- is a place for gay men to hook up for casual sex. However, I've also heard that the place is crawling with cops, and even know of a person or two who was busted at Estabrook for propositioning an undercover officer.

So my question is: Why do men still go here? Are they not aware that it's practically common knowledge that Estabrook Park's parking lot may be a hot spot for fine men, but also for "Milwaukee's Finest?" Do they know, but don't care? Is it really worth the risk?

RE: Little lamb... Yes, the "activities" still continue but definitley far less than back in the 80's and 90's.

To Re: Z boy -- LOL! Whoever you are, I really don't think I want to hang out at the park with a notebook and pencil and go up to men in cars, knock on their windows, and ask them if I can have a few minutes of their time to answer some questions. I'm interested in the lifestyle not to partake but out of curiosity as to what the heck goes on. I used to think these were drug deals that were taking place until someone told me otherwise.

IDEA -- How about the cops wait to be approached, and then see if the "approacher" asks the "Approachee" (cop) to go to a sleezy motel or to mix it up in the ferns? That way, there is no confusion as to whether it is illegal or not. As far as I can see, if they go back to one of their homes, or a motel, it is no different than meeting someone at a bar, grocery store, or a baseball game. However, that would be awkward if they wanted to go to a motel, and once they get there, the cop says..."ohh, i'm a cop, I was going to arrest you if you had brought me to the bushes. Thanks for the solicitation though, i'm quite flattered. I gotta run and get back to that parking lot, thanks for paying for the room. See you around, Doug."
