What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published Jan. 24, 2008 at 3:26 p.m.

First cookies, now sundaes. Bon Ton Bakery in Jefferson is selling cookies for Fonzie, and beginning this weekend Culver's will sell sundaes to help raise funds for the man who famously jumped the shark.

It has been 20 years since the final episode of "Happy Days" aired, but Henry Winkler, the actor who played "The Fonz," remains cool and as we've reported his likeness will soon be bronzed and forever immortalized in Downtown Milwaukee.

Winkler also holds a Master's degree from Yale University and has scores of acting, producing and directing credentials, yet he has struggled with dyslexia his entire life. His three children also have learning challenges. Winkler also has authored a series of dyslexic themed books in which the main character Hank Zipzer is dyslexic

So, a new partnership between Visit Milwaukee and Milwaukee-area Culver's restaurants -- that OnMilwaukee.com has learned will be announced tomorrow (Winkler will be in town as a keynote speaker for the 87th State Education Convention) -- will provide up to $10,000 for the Spheres of Proud Achievement in Reading for Kids (SPARK) program. SPARK is an early literacy program providing individualized tutoring to kids in grades kindergarten through three. It's a partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Milwaukee, UW-Milwaukee and the United Way.

The Fonz character was a big fan of hot fudge sundaes on the show; therefore, Culver's will promote its Hot Fudge Turtle Sundae and donate $1 from each sundae sold the statue fund and SPARK.

So, buy a sundae and help not only bronze our beloved Fonz, but kids to read.

More Information ...
New information released Jan. 25, 2008 by Visit Milwaukee: "With funding for the bronze life–like statue of Henry Winkler as his iconic TV character Fonzie, from the hit series “Happy Days” now secure thanks to a commitment from the cable network, TV Land, the project is moving into a new community benefit direction thanks to an innovative and fun promotion at all Milwaukee–area Culver’s restaurants."

Brenner is nothing more that an obese man who needs to have "Win a date with Me" contests just he can get a date. He is a flake and the city will be on step closer to enlightenment when he leaves. Art is like custard, your preference is your preference, but don't push your favorites onto me. I have my own.

Mike Brenner will step into a Culver's on a Friday night and start crying. He'll then think to himself, as those tears are running down his face and dripping onto the floor, "Don't these people know that they're wasting their lives in this custard stand when they should have been in my art gallery? But no, now it's too late you ingrates."

I doubt that Mike Brenner will be buying any turtle sundaes from Culver's anytime soon! The news just keeps getting worse and worse for poor li'l Mikey Brenner...
