Brrrrr, it's cold out there. Literally – and figuratively, if you're Ryan Braun. On the other hand, the Milwaukee Film Festival had a sizzling run this fall, and foodies are abuzz over the new Ardent. As usual, lots is going on in and around Brew City.

We're here to poke fun at all of it.

Here's a lighthearted look at what's hot and what's not in the Heat Index for October, 2013.

Sizzling:
Milwaukee Film Festival – Numbers up!

Hot:
Ardent – Foodies rejoice.
Kenosha casino – Is the Hard Rock coming to Wisco?

Warm:
The Packers – Banged up, but playing well.
Jermichael Finley – Thrilled he's OK.
New Bucks season – They're still undefeated!

Cool:
Abele re-election bid – Any real challengers?
Milwaukee Street – Ready for a boulevard.
Management changes at Grand Ave. – Too little too late ... maybe.

Cold:
Early winter – Literally and figuratively cold.
Amazon sales tax – Good for the state, bad for you?

Sub-zero:
Ryan Braun – Lost his BFF Aaron Rodgers.
Scott Walker John Doe probe – Questions linger.
Hoan Bridge construction – Major hassles coming soon.
