If you haven't yet made your way to the Harley Davidson Museum, this weekend is the perfect time to go. And if you've already made the trip, this is a prime opportunity to make your way back.
This Friday, the Harley-Davidson Museum unveils its first temporary exhibition, "The Helmet Project." The HD Museum collaborated with Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) to showcase the history and design of helmets through the eyes of MIAD students. "The Helmet Project" includes MIAD student's sculptures and installations plus Harley artifacts that illustrate the history of helmets.
Over 100 students recreated the traditional helmet concept focusing on art and design. Students, along with Museum staff and MIAD advisors, are responsible for the fabrication, graphics and marketing of the project.
The exhibit opens Friday night and is on display through Nov. 8. For details, visit the Harley-Davidson Museum Web site.
