Movie fans will have a new option in Brookfield beginning next spring.
Marcus Theatres Corporation, a division of The Marcus Corporation, announced its updated plans and a groundbreaking date for Majestic Cinema, a 16-screen complex located on Springdale Road, just north of Bluemound Road.
The complex will feature 16 stadium-style auditoriums, including two 72-feet-wide UltraScreens, an Italian cafe and a multi-purpose auditorium called The Palladium, which will be used for live performances, meetings and movies. The site will also feature a restaurant, cafe, lounge and other amenities.
Groundbreaking is slated for 4:30 p.m. on July 12.
Marcus Theatres' Web site is www.marcustheatres.com.

Steve said: What's going to happen with West Towne and West Point theatres? Seems a like overkill to have 3 cinemas with a 5 mile radius. There would easily be over 30 screens, there is never that many decent movies out to warrant that amount of screens, especially in a mid-market such as metro-Milwaukee.
