When people hear the term "networking event," they often picture attendees dressed in stiff collared shirts sipping martinis, eating stale Chex Mix in a corporate conference room and dutifully exchanging business cards.

NEWaukee Socials, networking events for Milwaukee’s growing pool of young professionals, don't involve any of those things.

Well, except maybe the martinis.

On Thursday night, come find out what NEWaukee Socials are all about at The Love Shack. Powered by NEWaukee and OnMilwaukee, these Socials take the stuffiness out of plain old networking events by throwing in food and drink specials at Milwaukee’s hottest new venues, while bringing together hundreds of young professionals.

The Love Shack will be serving $5 Coladas, Blue Hawaii, House Grog and Hula Babe cocktails until 9 p.m. Along with delicious food and strong drinks, Socials invite local artists and musicians to perform for attendees. Local rocker Jake Williams will be strumming his guitar throughout the night, further enhancing the Love Shack’s tiki lounge ambiance.

NEWaukee socials transform bland networking events into fun nights out. You won’t even feel like you’re working. We promise.

All are welcome to attend, whether solo or in a group. There is no cost or membership fee, and the dress code is open. We hope to see you there!

The Love Shack is located in Milwaukee's historic Third Ward at 106 W. Seeboth St. The Social begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. For more information, check out the Facebook event here.
