The Wisconsin Avenue bridge is open again! Yay! Woke up to find Wisconsin Avenue lined with these cute yellow signs. Love line #4.
Living near the Marquette campus, it's been hellish with that bridge closed. All the congestion and traffic with the buses needed to turn onto 12th to get back onto Wisconsin Avenue was definitely not fun. Walking down Tory Hill Road was a little too shady in my opinion for walking at night or when it was gloomy ... or in general.
But now order's restored and the new bridge is looking great. Ya, it's just a bridge, but it's a much better bridge.
The bridge is now much wider in terms of two lanes on either side and especially wide for walking purposes. Now you won't have to lean all the way into the guardrails or find yourself almost walking into traffic when a large group of people come your way. There's also a new lightpost in the middle of the new median.
Wisconsin Avenue bridge seems classier in a way with the new touches, including the lightpost. There's a new stoplight on the corner of Wisconsin and 10th Street as well as a patch of red brick, which adds a little bit of small town feel to the bustling Downtown.
Basically the new bridge is bright and shiny and much appreciated. Lots of thanks to the quick bridgemakers/construction workers!
