Northwestern Mutual contributes to Betty Brinn Museum and more
Northwestern Mutual Foundationannounced it will make $750,000 in grants to 10 Milwaukee organizations.
Topping the list is the Betty Brinn Children's Museum which will receive a $150,000 grant over a two-year period that will sponsor a new 1,500-square foot educational experience.
The new exhibit is projected to open in the spring 2015.
Other organizations that will receive grants are Discovery World, Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, the Milwaukee Art Museum, Zoological Society of Milwaukee County, Friends of Schlitz Audubon Center, Brewers Community Foundation, Summerfest, the Milwaukee Public Library Foundation and the Milwaukee Public Museum.
"Each year, millions of visitors travel to Milwaukee to enjoy some of the best arts, entertainment and educational opportunities the country has to offer," said John Kordsmeier, president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. "These grants ensure visitors, community residents and our employees have engaging and memorable experiences."
The gifts will support a variety of programs with the mission to bring visitors to the area, attract and retain current residents and workers and provide significant learning and enrichment experiences to children and families.
