Pacific Rim, 830 N. Old World 3rd St., Downtown has closed.  The somewhat eclectic Southeast Asian fine-dining restaurant -- which also claimed to have Wisconsin's longest granite bar top -- will become, according to an employee, the temporary site of The King and I, which is currently renovating its space at 823 N. 2nd St.

Sources say that both spaces may continue to operate under the King and I name. Bob Phoungphol, who passed away in June, co-owned The King & I and Pacific Rim with Marie Phoungphol who still runs The King & I.
