This morning, on the southwest corner of City Hall, Mayor Tom Barrett introduced MKE PARK, a new parking meter payment app available for download on Apple and Android devices.

The new, free-to-download app – created by Atlanta-based Parkmobile USA, Inc. – allows users to pay for parking directly from one's mobile device, working for all City of Milwaukee parking meters. That includes coin only meters, multi-space LUKE meters and the Liberty meters located in the Brady Street area.

The app is available to download right now at the iTunes Store or the Google Play Store. Department of Public Works parking division staff members will also add decals to all city parking meters, informing users how to download the app and set up an MKE PARK account.

Parking meters will continue to accept coins and credit cards. A transaction fee will apply when using the app.

Will you get a ticket more quickly for an expired meter? We'll see. OnMilwaukee.com will test these out soon – stay tuned.
