Louisa Loveridge Gallas won first place in the OnMilwaukee.com Milwaukee Poetry Contest for her piece, "The Estate of Grace." Catherine Averill nabbed runner up, for her poem entitled "Milwaukee: Leaving."
Gallas won a $100 gift certificate to Schwartz Bookshops, and Averill received a gift certificate to Bartolotta Restaurant Group and two tickets to the Hotel Cafe Tour at The Pabst Theater.
OnMilwaukee.com will publish the winning poems, along with articles about the authors, later this week.
Thanks to everyone who submitted to the contest.
