Pipito salutes Porticello with new restaurant

Tony Pipito, owner of Mama's Italian Cuisine and the attached Papa's Social Club at 7712-18 W. Burleigh St., will open a new Italian restaurant in Oconomowoc this fall.

Porticello, named for the Sicilian town to which many Milwaukee Italians trace their roots, will open on the shores of Silver Lake at 685 Valley Rd. and will be managed by Pipito's son Steve, who currently manages the Papa's bar.

Talkbacks

Lounge is noisy and the service is poor. You pay for your cocktails and the the barmaid comes back and says she needs another $5 because bartender gave her the wrong price. First time I've had that one pulled. Did not stay for dinner. People leaving said it was just so-so.

joseph gallenberger said: I am freinds with Tony Pipito, and he runs a great operation. The food is masterfully prepared classic Italian, the service is first rate. I wish Tony and his son good fortune with the new restaurant, and can't wait for the grand opening.
