Got a butcher that you love?  The Milwaukee Public Market is actively looking for one or two since Lakeside Poultry and Meats will leave the market at week's end.

The vendor, which operates a large space on the north side of the market, is currently taking e-mail addresses in hopes of opening another location outside the just over 1-year-old market.

Public Market officials are optimistic they'll make a smooth transition once they find a new butcher and possible other user for the space. "We are working on getting another butcher," said director of marketing and public relations Meg Rauschenberger.  "We are open to splitting the space, too."

Have suggestions for new vendors at the market?  E-mail them now.
