A new reality series is scouting Milwaukee and filming a pilot that could become a show similar to the Bravo TV series "The Real Housewives."
"We are exploring a show that would involve Milwaukee housewives and working on the possibility of a concept that would be based in Milwaukee," said executive producer Daphane Herrick of IKM Productions.
Herrick's partner, Patrick Moses, was the original executive producer of the hit reality franchise on Bravo TV that is currently airing season two of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." The show airs Thursday evenings.
Rumors about this new reality series began to surface several weeks ago, and many have recently seen crews in Downtown Milwaukee and in the Historic Third Ward.
Bravo TV crews are in Washington, D.C. filming another version of "Real Housewives" and a new season of "The Real Housewives of New York City" began filming this week as well. The franchise began in 2006 in Orange County and has since done versions (as previously mentioned) in New York, Atlanta and New Jersey. The series follows the lives of upper class housewives and professional women and their careers, friendships, families and feuds.
This Milwaukee show, though, will not be associated with the Bravo series. "The idea we are exploring involves housewives in Milwaukee," said Herrick, a Milwaukee resident. "We are casting and interviewing right now."
As with all television pilots, there's no guarantee that this one will be picked up as a full series. But, Milwaukee locations have been already been filmed and according to themilwaukeedrum.com several area women are being considered for this possible Milwaukee reality show. Herrick confirmed this saying, "We've met a lot of great women."
Stay tuned as we get more details.

They could film it on the south side, and call it "Real Housewives fer Chrissake"

I honestly thought OMC had accidentally reposted one of their April Fools articles. I think it would be hilarious if they actually make this show.

"High end cast"? What does that mean? The Real Housewives of X all had money, but they clearly had little class - to me they were all just trailer trash, but with better trailers. I'm not knocking this project, but I just wonder how they'll generate the drama necessary to get viewers. People behaving nicely (with or without wealth) don't fit into the television business model...

They know how to completely ignore the overwhelming majority of Milwaukee women while focusing on a few MILFs with money in the bank to play in the third ward? Fantastic. Episodes 3-8: Women complain on cell phone while driving SUV about how difficult it is to drive in the snow. Each episode ends when she slides into a ditch, and they buy a brand new car. There is nothing intriguing about "the housewives of milwaukee" especially when "milwaukee" is whitefolks bay, mequon or river hills.
