Clai Green, the owner of Fred, a boutique on Water Street, just north of the Third Ward, will open Red Heel, 522 N. Water St., a women's shoe store, in "late July or on Aug. 1."
According to Green, "the store will carry hip and trendy to conservative to comfort (shoes) for the fashion conscious female." "The great thing about Red Heel (will be) that if you want to spend $30 on shoes you can or if you want to spend $150 and up (you can)."
Red Heel continues the expansion of the fashion district in and around the Third Ward. More than 15 boutiques, shoe stores, galleries and other retail businesses have opened in the past year.
Green hopes to continue the neighborhood's fashion trend and offer value. "Basically we will be Milwaukee's affordable shoe store," concluded Green.

Will you stock any women's shoes in a size 10.5? Right now, I can only find those at Nordstroms and online. Why the jump from a size 10 to a size 11 (two sizes actually) in 95% of women's shoes? It drives me crazy.
