How many is too many martinis? |

"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles -- including guides, bartender profiles, drink recipes and even a little Brew City bar history. Cheers!
This week's sound-off question is in honor of OnMilwaukee.com's Bar Month, and the TV premiere of "Lipstick Jungle," which, if it's anything like "Sex And The City," will feature plenty of scenes with martinis.
Whether you like your martinis mixed with vodka or gin, "up" or on the rocks, dry or sweet, dirty or with a twist, the question remains: What's your limit?
Will you consume more than one martini per event? Two? Three? More? It might depend on how long you're out, but give us a ballpark estimate. We want to hear from everyone, from the most moderate to the sloppiest of sloppy. Sound off, Milwaukee!
One and done. If I drink more than one martini, I might have to lie down in the car. Plus, the wicked hangover I get from any more than one martini just isn't worth it.
Two's the charm. A couple of martinis equal the magic elixir I need to get a festive buzz that's not too obnoxious or overindulgent.
Three, please. It's hard to speculate exactly how many martinis I'd knock back in one evening, but three sounds about right.
Pour four … or more. This might sound excessive to some, but that's just how I roll.

Deuces I have to congratulate you if that is your line, pure genius. While looking for that quote, found another great one from Dorothy Parker: I wish I could drink like a lady, I'll have one or two at the most. Three and I'm under the table, Four and I'm under the host.

One is never enough, but for some reason I frequently think it is a good idea to switch to martinis at about midnight. Let me just say that this hasn't yet been a good idea.
