You still have time to round up pledges and take the big plunge.
This Sunday, the Wisconsin Special Olympics hosts "Freezin' for a Reason," the organization's 10th Annual Polar Plunge. Held at Muskego County Park, the Polar Plunge is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Wisconsin's Special Olympics with "Plungers" raising $7 million dollars since the event's 1999 inception.
"I've been coaching Wauwatosa Special Olympics soccer now for 24 years and it's truly fun. The athletes are wonderful," Jim Hass, Special Olympics volunteer explains.
The event's plunge was called off last year due to frigid below zero temperatures but with this weekend's planned warm-up, you can start getting ready for that dive. Events include food, hot tubs, music by The Love Monkeys and of course, the big splash.
Don't feel like swimming? The Special Olympics invites you to join the festivities and simply make a donation online.

It's really a fun time. Even if you don't plunge the band and the food are great! And it's a great cause. I'll be there!
