Winter parking regulations begin today

Winter parking regulations for the City of Milwaukee are in effect from today, Dec. 1, through March 1, 2012.

Most residential streets require alternate side night parking during this period. However, there are exceptions to this rule. Overnight parking is prohibited on major arterial streets and bus routes. These streets are not posted.

Additionally, some streets on the East Side and near South Side that normally allow overnight parking on both sides of the street require alternate side night parking during winter rules. These streets are not posted.

To find the winter parking regulations for a specific street, visit mpw.net/services/NoParking or call the Parking Information Desk at (414) 286-8350.

@brewcitypaul - TOO CLOSE to the curb? I got a $30 parking ticket for being more than 18" from the curb (or whatever it is). Bogus.

This is the city just literally robbing their citizens. I stopped to get some food at Koppas on Farwell a week ago. Wasn't even inside for 5 minutes and I come out and have a $30 ticket for parking too close to the curb. Milwaukee really needs to cut this crap out.

I think it's REALLY bizarre and inconsiderate that the city doesn't post signs. They expect people to "just know". I'm not saying its some dark conspiracy to write parking tickets and tow our cars, but it'd be nice to see signs posted about these parking regulations.
