Happy Cinco de Mayo, one of America’s favorite days for eating and drinking.

It’s certainly a big day for the margarita. According to the Distilled Spirits Council, it’s estimated that up to 47 percent of all drinks ordered on Cinco de Mayo are margaritas. In fact, tequila sales easily double during the week leading up to the holiday. The same is true for avocados. The California Avocado Commission reported that 87 million pounds of avocados are purchased for Cinco de Mayo. Holy guacamole!

Planning to celebrate? Purchasing spirits directly from a restaurant when you order carry-out helps their bottom line considerably, so please do so when you can. However, if you need more ideas for spots to get margarita kits and more, we've got some suggestions.

Level up by patronizing one of Milwaukee's many Mexican-owned restaurants. They need your business more than ever, so it's the perfect time to show your support.

Choose to accept this mission? Great, here are some delicious options to mull over.
