World-famous chef Mario Batali is coming to Milwaukee.

The Italian chef, writer, restauranteur and former "Iron Chef America" star will come to town on Friday, Oct. 24 for a special cookbook dinner at Bartolotta Restaurants' upcoming Downtown Kitchen in the U.S. Bank Center.

The multi-course meal will be based on recipes from Batali's new book, "America – Farm to Table: Simple, Delicious Recipes Celebrating Local Farmers." Attendees will receive autographed copies of the book, as well as hear the famous chef speak about his latest work, his life story and more (probably food). Judging by Batali's impressive resume – which includes winning multiple James Beard Awards, owning several restaurants and eateries across the globe, starring on the Food Network and c0-hosting ABC's "The Chew" – he will have plenty to talk about.

The doors open at 6 p.m., with a seat at the table costing $125, which includes the autographed book, tax and gratuity. Tickets for the dinner can be bought at the Bartolotta's website

The special meal will be one of the first events for the Bartolotta group's new space, which is scheduled to officially open in early September.
