You may have noticed that Bella's Fat Cat's two locations -- 2737 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. and 2974 N. Oakland Ave. -- have been closed in recent weeks.

Co-owner Kim Schmidt told us this morning that the restaurants are closed temporarily and she hopes they will reopen soon.

She noted that business at the restaurants has been good.

Neither Schmidt nor her co-owner, husband Michael Schmidt, would say when the restaurants would again be open for business -- "vague is better," said Kim, but they say they're working hard behind the scenes to solves some financial issues facing the business.

While those issues are being worked out, said Michael Schmidt, "we found it best to close at this time."
